Our History
The true story of grapefruit extract began in the 1970’s when Dr. Jakob Harich discovered and developed this original product in Florida. After emigrating from Germany where he worked as a medical doctor and researcher, Dr. Harich moved to Florida with his family in the 1960’s.
He observed the cycle of growth, maturity, and decomposition of the grapefruit trees in his yard, which sparked his exploration of citrus by-products, particularly the pulp and seeds. His research into the phytochemicals present in grapefruit led to the development of his patented extraction process.
This technology isolates the active components of the grapefruit extract producing significant antimicrobial activity. We continue to build on Dr. Harich’s research and maintain our commitment to product quality.
